Cable schedule
By Saad, practising automation engineer · Updated 2026-09-25
A list of field cables with origin, destination, core count, and the loop tags they serve.
Cable scheduling for instrumentation is one row per field cable, not per signal. Shared Cable ID, from, and to collapse to one row. Core count is the declared pair or multicore, never a sum of signals.
SchematicForge is cable schedule software in that narrow sense: it builds the schedule from the IO list so it matches the loop diagrams. It is not tray-fill, pulling tension, or 3D routing software.
Start with the free Excel template or the 10-row CSV generator. The issued project schedule is in the drawing package after you upload the vendor list.
SchematicForge uses this term in generated loop diagrams, the Loop Register, and termination lists.
